Where a person checks · asked at more than one firm

I just have to trust it. I can trust it, right?

Short answer

You can trust AI output only as far as you can check it. A person reviews exactly the outputs that would hurt if they were wrong, edge cases are flagged rather than quietly decided, and a human hand stays on the commit. Trust comes from being able to check its work.

Why people ask

That they are being asked to rely on something they can’t see inside.

The longer answer

Sort the outputs by what a mistake would cost. A wrong internal summary is an annoyance. A wrong figure sent to a client is a problem. Review goes where the cost is.

Then make the system say when it isn’t sure. A good build hands the uncertain cases to a person instead of picking an answer.

Where AI falls short

This question was asked out loud in a working session and logged without a name or a company. It was asked at more than one firm, independently.
