Choosing help
What does an AI consultant actually do?
A good AI consultant does 3 things: finds where AI would pay back in your firm, puts those options in order, and tells you what to leave alone. What you get should be a short, ranked plan grounded in how your work actually runs, with numbers behind each line.
Why people ask
Paying for a slide deck that says what they already knew.
The longer answer
Expect them to spend time with the people who do the work. The useful findings come from watching a process run, not from interviewing the leadership team about it.
Expect numbers: hours today, what it would take to move them, and how long until it pays back. And expect at least one recommendation not to do something.
Some consultants stop at the plan and some build it. Know which you are hiring, because a plan with nobody to carry it out is where most of these efforts end.
