Governance and rollout
Who owns what the AI produces?
Between you and the vendor, AI-generated content is normally yours: the major tools’ terms assign the output to the customer. Whether it can be protected by copyright is a separate question, and in the US that generally needs human authorship. Read the terms for the plan you’re on, and ask your lawyer about anything valuable.
Why people ask
That work the firm delivers to a client isn’t really the firm’s to deliver.
The longer answer
There are 2 questions hiding in this one. The first is contractual: does the vendor claim anything over what you produce? On the mainstream business plans, no.
The second is legal: is the output protected like any other work? Where a person has shaped, edited and taken responsibility for it, the position is stronger than for something generated and sent as is. That is one more reason a person signs off.
Where AI falls short
This question was asked out loud in a working session and logged without a name or a company.
